Hi all,

Where do you stand if you have a delivery driver working for you who's been employed for say 2-3 years & they get married.

But, their wedding ring has a diamond in it & the company policy is that staff cannot have rings with gems in them?

Whilst you have the company policy to say they cant wear the ring, what do you do if they refuse to take it off?

It could be extremely bad PR for your business if local press picked it up.

Imagine an suitable applicant refused a job because they refused to or could not take off a wedding ring with a gem in it, fair enough if a raw / open food handler, but a delivery driver??

Your thoughts most welcomed.

Hey Dave,I can't imagine why it would affect a driver if he has no contact with food, but after reading about cups banned in the office what do I know?
He could always wear a blue plaster around it at work if he didn't want to take it off..
